This challenging circular hiking route will take you through the breathtaking landscape of the Doktoralm area. With a total distance of 11.811 kilometers and an elevation gain of 310 meters, this trail is not for the faint of heart but promises stunning views and a memorable experience.
You will start your journey at the trailhead where you can find convenient parking at P2, which is open from 07:00 to 20:00 and free of charge. As you begin your hike, you will pass by several restaurants such as Lärchenstadl, Stamperl, and Wilderer Alm, where you can refuel and enjoy a meal before continuing on your adventure.
Midway through the hike, you will reach Gamskogelhütte, a cozy alpine hut where you can take a break and take in the picturesque surroundings. As you trek further, you will come across Gantalscharte, a stunning natural saddle that offers panoramic views of the area.
Towards the end of the hike, you will reach Doktoralm, another charming alpine hut where you can rest and recharge before completing the loop. Along the way, you will also encounter attractions such as Adventurepark and Marienbündl, as well as amenities like drinking water at Marienbündl and a bar at Almkessel.
