This hiking route to Pic Arraillé is set in a stunning area with breathtaking views. The trail is an out-and-back type and covers a distance of 17.545 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1072 meters, making it an extremely difficult hike that is suitable for experienced hikers.
As you start your journey, you will come across a convenient parking area. About 0.28 kilometers into the hike, you will find Camping Pyrénées Natura, a campsite where you can stay overnight if you wish to break up the hike. Further along the trail at around 0.2 kilometers in, there is Bistrot L'Étape du Randonneur, a restaurant where you can grab a meal or a drink.
As you continue on the trail, you will reach Cabane de Banciole, a shelter located 4.81 kilometers into the hike. This can be a good spot to take a rest and enjoy some peaceful moments in nature. La Tucoy, a peak, is situated 7.84 kilometers from the start of the trail, offering a stunning panoramic view of the surrounding area. The trail also leads to another peak called Pic Arraillé, which is 8.77 kilometers from the start and promises a rewarding summit experience.
Throughout the hike, you will also come across Bistrot L'Etape du Randonneur, a cafe located about 0.23 kilometers from the start, where you can refuel and recharge before continuing on your journey.
Given the length and elevation of the hike, it is crucial to be well-prepared. Make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and proper hiking gear.
