This extremely difficult 17.391-kilometer out-and-back hiking route will take you to the stunning Lacs Lacroix area. The trail offers a total elevation gain of 727.0 meters and a duration of approximately 5 hours and 50 minutes.

Starting at the trailhead, you'll first come across a parking area just 4.18 meters away from the trail. As you make your way, at around 0.8 kilometers from the start, you'll find the Camping Municipal du Chardonnet Ou La Monta, a campsite where you can take a break or even stay overnight. Continuing further, at the beginning of the hike, you'll spot the Refuge de la Monta, an alpine hut that's perfect for a visit.

The highlight of the hike is the beautiful Lacs Lacroix located 8.7 kilometers from the starting point. These lakes offer a serene setting and a perfect spot to relax and refuel before your journey back.

Throughout the hike, you'll also come across informational points like Les Maisons Neuves and La Monta, providing you with interesting insights into the area. There are also drinking water sources available around the 0.1-kilometer mark for your convenience.
