This hiking route takes you through the stunning area surrounding Pico da Lebre. The trail spans a distance of approximately 16.666 kilometers with an elevation gain of 707 meters, making it an extremely difficult hike. It is recommended to set aside around 5 hours and 37 minutes to complete the entire route.
As you embark on this challenging journey, you will encounter several points of interest along the way. At the beginning of the trail, you will find a convenient parking area for your vehicle. Approximately 6.13 kilometers into the hike, you will come across the picturesque Pena Corveira, a natural water feature that provides a tranquil setting for a rest stop.
Further along the trail, at a distance of 8.33 kilometers from the start, you will reach the prominent peak known as Pico da Lebre. Here, you can take in breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Additionally, at various points around the 0.05-kilometer mark, you will find a water source and a picnic site called Área recreativa do Coto. Make sure to refill your water supply and enjoy a well-deserved break at these locations.
For those interested in exploring more unique attractions, there is an archaeological site known as Menhir da Toxiza located approximately 7.49 kilometers from the starting point. Although it is slightly off the main trail, this historical site offers a fascinating glimpse into the region's past.
