Welcome to the Windsfeldweg hiking route!
This 10.66-kilometer difficult trail offers a challenging but rewarding outdoor experience. You will be surrounded by stunning natural beauty as you navigate through the picturesque landscape.
At the beginning of the trail, you will find the Landzeit Tauernal restaurant, a perfect spot to grab a bite to eat before starting your hike. As you make your way along the path, you will come across several parking areas for your convenience. Remember to bring plenty of water and snacks, as there are no amenities along the route.
Midway through your journey, you will encounter multiple natural water sources where you can rest and refuel. One of the notable water features is the Metzgerbründl spring, located approximately 3.57 kilometers from the start of the trail.
The route is an out-and-back trail, so you will retrace your steps on the way back. The total elevation gain of 835 meters adds an extra layer of challenge to the hike, so be prepared for a strenuous workout.
Before embarking on your adventure, make sure to check the weather forecast and dress accordingly. It's essential to wear sturdy hiking boots and bring a map or GPS device to stay on track.
