Welcome to the Johann-Klettersteig hiking route!

Located in a beautiful area, this route offers a total distance of 3.182 kilometers with an elevation gain of 215 meters. The estimated duration for this hike is approximately 1 hour and 16 minutes, making it an easy and enjoyable trek for hikers of all levels.

Starting at the trailhead, you will come across various points of interest along the way. At the beginning of the trail, you will find the Dachstein Südwandbahn parking area, where you can securely park your vehicle. As you continue on, you will pass by the Dachsteinsüdwandhütte, an alpine hut and restaurant, which is a great spot to take a break and enjoy a meal.

Midway through the hike, you will encounter two peaks, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. You will also find several benches and informational points along the trail where you can rest and learn more about the area.

For those interested in rock climbing, there are designated climbing areas such as the Klettergarten Zughalswand Sektor A-B and Sektor C, where you can test your skills and enjoy the thrill of climbing in a beautiful natural setting.

As this is an out-and-back route, you will retrace your steps back to the trailhead.
