Mt. Pico de Loro is a popular hiking destination known for its stunning views and challenging terrain. The hike is classified as moderate in difficulty, covering a distance of approximately 6.014 kilometers with an elevation gain of 287 meters. As you start your journey, you will come across the DENR Ternate Parking area, where you can safely leave your vehicle before hitting the trail. Along the way, you will pass by the DENR Registration point, located just 0.02 kilometers from the start, where you may need to check in before continuing your hike.
As you make your way through the trail, you will encounter several points of interest. About 2.76 kilometers from the start, you will find the Pico De Loro Campsite, a perfect spot to take a rest and enjoy the natural surroundings. Further along, at 2.36 kilometers from the beginning, you will reach a Clearing picnic site, offering a great place to have a snack while taking in the scenery.
The highlight of the hike is reaching the summit of Mt. Pico de Loro, located 3.01 kilometers from the start. The summit provides breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes, making all your efforts worthwhile. Additionally, you can visit the Parrot's Beak viewpoint nearby to capture some amazing photos.
On your way back, don't forget to stop by the Kainan sa D.E.N.R. restaurant to refuel and recharge before reaching the trailhead.
