Welcome to the Steinberg hiking route! This challenging out-and-back trail offers stunning views of the surrounding area, with a total distance of 12.732 kilometers and an elevation gain of 913.0 meters. The estimated duration for this hike is approximately 5 hours and 13 minutes, making it extremely difficult but rewarding for experienced hikers.

Starting at the trailhead, you will pass by Hintersteiner See, a beautiful lake just 0.02 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. As you continue on, you'll come across Stöfflhütte and Walleralm, perfect spots to take a break and refuel 2.71 and 2.99 kilometers into the hike, respectively. Further along the trail at 5.49 kilometers, you'll find Kaindlhütte, an alpine hut offering accommodation and sustenance.

Throughout the hike, you'll encounter several points of interest such as Hochegg and Duregg peaks, as well as various information points and benches for resting. Be sure to check out the Sojerweg mitte for a scenic stop 1.66 kilometers in.
