Hiking : Poggio Barone

This hiking route will take you through the beautiful area surrounding Poggio Barone. The route is an out-and-back trail with a total distance of 5.645 kilometers and an elevation gain of 257 meters, making it a moderate difficulty hike.

You will start your journey at the parking area near the trailhead. As you make your way along the trail, you will pass by a memorial to an airplane crash that occurred in 1948. Further along the route, you will come across a drinking water facility where you can refill your water bottles.

About 1.7 kilometers into the hike, you will reach a point where you can veer off the trail to visit a water feature. Continuing on, at around 2.82 kilometers from the start, you will reach the peak known as Poggio Barone, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area.

As you head back towards the starting point, you will come across a restaurant where you can stop for a meal or a snack. Additionally, there is a viewpoint along the trail where you can pause to take in the scenery.
