This extremely difficult 18.258-kilometer circular hiking route will lead you through the stunning area surrounding Cerro de los Poyos de Monachil. With an elevation gain of 608 meters, this hike will challenge even experienced hikers.
Starting off at Canal de la Espartera, you will first come across a drinking water point at the beginning of the trail, so be sure to fill up your water bottle before embarking on this challenging journey. As you make your way along the trail, you will encounter Collado del Álamo, a picturesque saddle about 6.94 kilometers from the start.
About 3.41 kilometers into the hike, you'll reach the majestic peak of Pico de la Carne, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding natural beauty. Continuing on, you'll pass by Cerro del Sol at around 3.02 kilometers from the start and then reach Cerro Gordo at 4.31 kilometers.
As you trek further, you will reach Cerro de los Poyos de Monachil itself at approximately 7.9 kilometers from the start. This peak promises panoramic vistas that will make the arduous journey worthwhile.
