This challenging hike takes you through the beautiful area of GR10 - GR10. The route is an out-and-back type, spanning a distance of 8.357 kilometers with an elevation gain of 332 meters, making it quite difficult but incredibly rewarding.
As you begin your trek, you'll come across the Xalet de l'Albera, a cozy restaurant that marks the starting point of the trail. Be sure to check out their website for any important updates before starting your adventure.
Along the way, you'll encounter several points of interest. At the beginning of the trail, you'll find the Boundary Stone named Borne frontière 583, a historic marker steeped in significance. As you continue further, you'll reach the Refuge de la Tagnarède, a wilderness hut located midway through the hike. This is a great spot to rest and refuel before continuing on your journey.
