This challenging 11.153-kilometer out-and-back hiking route takes you through the stunning area around Tuquet de Caurère. The hike has an elevation gain of 1026 meters and is estimated to take about 5 hours and 8 minutes to complete.
As you start your journey, you'll come across a parking area at the beginning of the trail. Shortly after, you'll reach Aire de Bivouac de l'Hospice du Rioumajou, a campsite where you can rest and enjoy the surroundings. Make sure to fill up your water bottles, as the next point of interest is a waterfall located 1 kilometer from the trail.
Continuing on, at around 5.35 kilometers into the hike, you'll reach the peak of Peña Castillón, offering breathtaking panoramic views. Further along the trail, at 5.58 kilometers, you'll pass by Tuquet de Caurère, another peak worth exploring.
Halfway through the hike, at 5.18 kilometers, you'll come across Puerto de la Forqueta, a saddle point along the trail. For a well-deserved break, there is a shelter and a restaurant, Hospice du Rioumajou, located 0.14 kilometers from the trail. You can also visit the alpine hut Hospice du Rioumajou, which is a short distance away.
