This hiking route will take you to the breathtaking Pica Romana summit, standing at 1727 meters above sea level. The trail starts at a parking area near the trailhead and follows a challenging path that covers a distance of 6.4 kilometers with an elevation gain of 707 meters.
Along the way, you will encounter several points of interest. About 0.72 kilometers into the hike, you will come across a water source, offering a perfect opportunity to refill your water bottles. As you continue on, at around 2.68 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Collet de Costasseda, a saddle point with stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Further ahead, at 3.2 kilometers, you will reach another saddle point called Collet de Palomera, providing another scenic spot to rest and take in the views.
At the summit of Pica Romana, 1727 meters above sea level, you will not only enjoy panoramic views but also find an information point to learn more about the area. Additionally, a viewpoint located nearby offers a perfect spot to capture memorable photos of the stunning surroundings.
This out-and-back route is rated as difficult due to its length and elevation gain, so it is recommended to be well-prepared with proper hiking gear, plenty of water, and snacks.
