This extremely difficult 12.73-kilometer circular hiking route will lead you to the breathtaking Westliche Karwendelspitze in the Karwendel mountain range. The trail begins at Wanderparkplatz, where you can park your vehicle. Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks before embarking on this challenging journey.
As you start your ascent, you'll pass by informative signposts providing insights into the surrounding flora and fauna. Be sure to take breaks at the various benches along the way to catch your breath and admire the stunning views.
Midway through the hike, you'll reach Karwendelbahn Bergstation, where you can grab a bite to eat and refuel for the rest of the journey. Continuing on, you'll encounter the picturesque Mittenwalder Hütte, offering a cozy spot to rest and recharge.
The trail will then lead you to the peak of Südlicher Karwendelkopf, where you can revel in panoramic vistas of the Karwendel range. As you make your way back, don't miss the opportunity to stop at Untere Dammkarscharte and enjoy the serene surroundings.
Throughout the hike, you'll also come across several viewpoints perfect for capturing memorable photos. Keep an eye out for Gamseck, a notable peak along the route.
