Welcome to the hiking route to Canoe Rock in the Luk Chau Shan area. This moderate 5.15-kilometer out-and-back trail offers a total elevation gain of 194 meters, making it a great option for hikers looking for a bit of a challenge.
Your journey begins at the parking area, where you can leave your vehicle before starting the hike. Along the way, you will come across several points of interest. About 0.28 kilometers from the start, there is an information point that provides insights into the area. As you continue on, you will find a shelter at 0.14 kilometers and another at 0.03 kilometers from the trail. These shelters offer a great place to take a break and enjoy the surroundings.
At around 0.8 kilometers from the start, you will find another information point marked as C3301. This could be a great spot to learn more about the area and its history. Additionally, at 0.1 kilometers from the trail, there is the Ma On Shan Barbecue Site, perfect for a pit stop and a quick meal.
One of the highlights of this hike is the Canoe Rock, located approximately 2.58 kilometers from the start. This natural attraction, also known as 獨木舟石, offers a unique rock formation that is worth a visit. As you trek further, keep an eye out for other interesting landmarks such as the 石壟仔 peak at 2.47 kilometers and the 蜥蜴石 rock at 2.31 kilometers from the start.
