This hiking route takes you through a beautiful area with a total distance of 8.229 kilometers and an elevation gain of 660 meters, making it a difficult hike. It is an out-and-back route with the destination being Rifugio M. Gennaro.
Starting at the trailhead, you will come across the Convento San Nicola ruins at the beginning of your journey, located 0.25 kilometers from the start. As you continue, you will pass by the Roman walls and earthworks archaeological site, located also 0.25 kilometers from the start.
Midway through your hike, you will reach the Rifugio M. Gennaro alpine hut, where you can take a break and maybe even enjoy a meal. This hut is located 4.11 kilometers from the start and is a great spot to rest and refuel before continuing on your journey.
