This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area around Rotwandl, offering a moderate level of difficulty with a total distance of 6.391 kilometers and an elevation gain of 461 meters. Make sure to pack enough water and check the weather forecast before heading out.
Starting at the trailhead, you will come across the Laimeralm restaurant about 0.22 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. This is a great spot to grab a meal or a snack before starting your hike. Further along the path, at around 3.2 kilometers, you'll reach the peak known as Rotwandl, where you can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the surrounding wilderness.
If you continue on for another 2.94 kilometers, you'll come across the Rotwandsattel information point and saddle, providing you with more insights into the area and a chance to rest before heading back. For accommodation options, the Rettenkogelhütte wilderness hut is located about 3.06 kilometers from the start of the trail, offering a cozy place to spend the night if you're planning a longer hike.
