Hiking : Kalvária

This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area of Kalvária. The route is an out-and-back type, starting and ending at Kalvária.

As you begin your hike, you will come across a parking area near the trail. Approximately 3.91 kilometers into the hike, you will find a fountain where you can take a break and refill your water bottle. Continuing on, at around 4.32 kilometers, you will reach Modrý Kameň, a historic castle worth exploring. Nearby, at 4.38 kilometers, you will find the Balassi Memorial.

Along the way, there are several places to stop for sustenance including the Mafík restaurant at 0.33 kilometers, Hostinec Šťuka pub at 0.72 kilometers, Marťák pub at 0.42 kilometers, Martiner pub at 0.14 kilometers, and Sahib pub at 0.06 kilometers.

For those interested in history, there is a wayside shrine at 3.89 kilometers, and a wayside cross at 5.11 kilometers. Additionally, there is an information point at 4.13 kilometers and a historic cemetery at the same location.

The hike offers a total distance of 10.659 kilometers with an elevation gain of 253 meters, making it a difficult trail. Remember to bring enough water, wear appropriate hiking gear, and check the weather forecast before setting out. Enjoy the stunning views and historical landmarks along the way!
