This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area surrounding Vallmeritzalm. The total distance of the hike is 9.687 kilometers with an elevation gain of 682 meters, making it a difficult trek that will take approximately 3 hours and 56 minutes to complete.
As you start your hike, you will come across a parking area at the trailhead. Make sure to bring enough water and snacks for the journey. The trail is well-marked, but it's always a good idea to check the weather forecast before heading out.
Along the way, you will encounter several points of interest. About 4.84 kilometers into the hike, you'll reach Vallmeritzalm, an alpine hut where you can take a break and enjoy the scenic views. Further along the trail, at 1.31 kilometers, you'll find an information point called Infotafel Bergwerksweg, providing insights into the area's history.
Additionally, at 0.28 kilometers, there is a bench where you can rest and take in the surroundings. For those interested in exploring natural features, at 1.68 kilometers, there is a cave entrance called Bergwerk.
As you continue on the trail, you will pass by various facilities such as Marterl Hl. Barbara, a historic wayside cross at 0.82 kilometers, and Nösslachhütte, a restaurant and alpine hut at 0.84 kilometers. And let's not forget the spring at 0.58 kilometers, perfect for refilling your water bottles.
