This hiking route is located in a beautiful area with diverse landscapes and stunning views. The trail is an out-and-back type, leading to the destination of Cairn Leuchan.
As you start your journey, you will come across various Points of Interest (POIs) along the way. At the beginning of the trail, you can find the Clachan Grill restaurant and parking facilities. It's advisable to park your vehicle here and grab a bite before hitting the trail.
Further along the path, midway through your hike, you'll encounter Rocksalt & Snails cafe where you can take a break and enjoy some refreshments. Make sure to carry enough water with you as well, as the trail is quite long, covering a distance of 12.872 kilometers.
As you continue on, at around 5.42 kilometers from the start, you'll reach a water source providing a perfect opportunity to refill your water bottle. The trail then leads you to the peak of Cairn Leuchan, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding area.
While the hike is rewarding, it's important to note that it is classified as extremely difficult due to its length of 12.872 kilometers and an elevation gain of 477.0 meters. Therefore, ensure you are well-prepared with proper hiking gear, sufficient water, and snacks.
