This extremely challenging hike takes you through a stunning alpine landscape, with a total distance of 17.867 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1663 meters. The trail starts at a parking area, where you can leave your vehicle before embarking on this adventure. Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks, as this hike will definitely test your endurance.
As you make your way along the trail, you'll come across various points of interest. At the beginning of the hike, you'll pass by the Tisenhof restaurant, where you can refuel and relax before continuing on. As you venture further, you'll come across the Raffeinhof restaurant, offering another opportunity to take a break and enjoy the scenery.
One of the highlights of this hike is the Similaunhütte (Rifugio Similaun) alpine hut, located approximately 5.87 kilometers from the start. This is a great spot to rest and recharge while taking in the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.
Midway through the hike, you'll encounter the Ötzi-Denkmal (Stele della Mummia del Similaun), a memorial dedicated to the famous glacier mummy Ötzi. Take some time to learn about the history and significance of this site before continuing on your journey.
