The Great Northern Trail is a challenging 9.726-kilometer out-and-back hiking route that offers beautiful natural scenery and a great workout. The trail starts at Woodland Trails parking area and takes you through various points of interest.

As you begin your hike, you will pass by several water features, including small ponds and streams. At 1.1 kilometers into the hike, you will reach a tranquil water spot that is directly on the trail, perfect for a quick rest or snack break.

Continuing on, at 2.35 kilometers into the hike, you will come across another water feature that is just off the trail, providing a peaceful ambiance to your journey. This would be a great spot to take in the views and relax for a bit.

As you approach the midway point of the trail at 4.4 kilometers, you will encounter more water features off the trail, adding to the serene atmosphere of the hike. These spots are great for a photo opportunity or to simply enjoy the sounds of nature.

At 4.86 kilometers, you will reach another water feature that is conveniently located on the trail, offering a refreshing stop during your trek. This would be a good place to refill your water bottle and take a breather before heading back.

Throughout the hike, you will also come across benches at 0.2 and 0.25 kilometers from the start, providing resting spots along the way.

Due to the length of the trail and the varied terrain, this hike is considered difficult. It is recommended to bring plenty of water, snacks, wear appropriate clothing and footwear, and check the weather forecast before embarking on this adventure.
