Welcome to the Breitenstein hiking route!

Located in a beautiful area, this 6.39 km circular trail offers hikers a moderate to difficult challenge with an elevation gain of 711 meters. The route will take approximately 3 hours and 15 minutes to complete, so be sure to pack enough water and snacks for the journey.

At the beginning of the trail, you will find the Birkenstein parking area, where you can leave your vehicle before starting your adventure. Along the way, you will encounter the Hubertushütte alpine hut, a perfect spot to take a break and enjoy some local cuisine. Make sure to check their opening hours as they are open from May to October, Wednesday to Sunday.

As you continue on the trail, you will pass by the Breitenstein peak and the Breitenstein Westgipfel, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding area. Don't miss the Breitensteinfensterl and the Hansi memorial for some historical insights along the way.

Midway through the hike, you will find water sources and benches for a quick rest before reaching the endpoint. Be sure to stop by the Breitensteinfensterl cave entrance and the Bockstein peak for some unique natural landmarks.
