This challenging hiking route takes you through the beautiful area of Viale di Castellmato in the Parco Naturale Regionale Monti Simbruini. The trail covers a distance of 8.849 kilometers with an elevation gain of 319 meters, making it suitable for experienced hikers.
Starting at the parking area near the trailhead, you will pass by a drinking water station just a few meters into the hike, which is perfect for refilling your water bottles before continuing on your journey. As you make your way along the trail, you'll come across an information point providing details about the natural and historic significance of the area.
About midway through the hike, you'll reach a wayside shrine, offering a peaceful spot to rest and take in the surroundings. Further along the trail, you'll encounter a picnic site where you can stop for a snack and enjoy the views.
Towards the end of the hike, you'll reach a peak with breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. This is a great spot to take a break before heading back along the same route.
