Welcome to the hiking route towards Pico Mayor!
This circular route offers stunning views and a moderate level of difficulty with a total distance of 4.465 kilometers and an elevation gain of 260 meters. It is estimated to take around 1 hour and 41 minutes to complete.
Starting at the designated parking area, you will begin your journey towards Pico Mayor. The trail will lead you through diverse landscapes, including an archaeological site known as Dolmen del Pico Mayor, located 2.1 kilometers from the start. This ancient site provides a glimpse into the region's historic past.
As you continue along the path, you will encounter La Arena, a saddle point offering a brief respite and panoramic views of the surrounding area. This spot is approximately 1.66 kilometers into the hike, providing a perfect opportunity to rest and take in the scenery.
Halfway through the route, at 2.1 kilometers from the start, you will reach the peak of Pico Mayor. This prominent feature offers breathtaking views of the landscape below, making it a highlight of the hike.
For your convenience, there are two drinking water stations along the trail, located at the beginning and 0.57 kilometers into the hike, ensuring you stay hydrated throughout your journey.
