This extremely difficult hiking route will take you through the stunning area around Simmering. The 15.086 kilometers long trail offers breathtaking views and a challenging elevation gain of 1428 meters.

Starting at the parking area located right by the trail, you will soon come across a wayside cross, a perfect spot to take a breather early on in the hike. As you continue on, you will find a drinking water station at around 0.11 kilometers from the start, which is a good opportunity to refill your water bottles.

Further along the trail, at around 2.7 kilometers from the start, you will encounter the peak of Zunterkopf, offering panoramic views of the surrounding area. At 3.74 kilometers from the start, there is a bench where you can rest and enjoy a snack before continuing your journey.

At the midway point, approximately 5.47 kilometers from the start, you will find a water source which can be helpful for hydration. The trail then leads to the peak of Simmering at around 7.54 kilometers from the start, a highlight of the hike with stunning views as your reward for the challenging ascent.

Before heading back, make sure to visit the wayside shrine at around 0.39 kilometers from the start, a place of historic significance along the trail. As you make your way back, you will pass by informative signs to learn more about the area's history and landmarks.
