Welcome to the Agia Irini Gorge hiking route! This challenging 11.13-kilometer out-and-back trail offers stunning views and a variety of points of interest to explore along the way.

Starting at the trailhead, you'll come across the Oasis Taverna-Cafe just 0.08 kilometers from the start. This is a great spot to grab a bite to eat or a refreshing drink before beginning your trek. As you continue on, you'll pass by a parking area conveniently located right at the beginning of the trail.

About 2.44 kilometers into the hike, you'll find a drinking water station to refill your water bottles and stay hydrated. Further along, at the 2.46-kilometer mark, there is a picturesque picnic site where you can take a break and enjoy the serene surroundings.

Exploring the historic side of the trail, around 5.57 kilometers in, you'll encounter the ruins of a Castle. While not directly on the trail, it's worth the short detour to see this piece of history. Additionally, there are information points scattered throughout the hike, providing insight into the area's significance.

For those in need of a rest or a snack, there are several other picnic sites and drinking water stations along the way. These are perfect for taking a breather and refueling for the journey back.

With an elevation gain of 497.0 meters, this hike is considered difficult and is best suited for experienced hikers. Be sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and wear sturdy hiking shoes. Check the weather forecast before heading out, as conditions can change quickly in mountainous terrain.
