This hiking route takes you to Childress Hill, a natural peak in a scenic area. The trail is super easy, with a distance of 0.926 kilometers and no elevation gain.
At the beginning of the hike, you will find parking facilities where you can leave your vehicle. As you continue on the trail, about 0.46 kilometers in, you will come across the Old Alabama State Capital ruins, offering a glimpse into the area's historic past. Nearby, you will also find the peak known as Childress Hill, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
Midway through the hike, there is a bar called R and R Cigars Tuscaloosa - The Cigar Mansion, where you can take a break and refresh yourself. Additionally, there is a drinking water station nearby to refill your water bottle.
On the way back, you can admire the artwork of Rick Rush, adding a cultural touch to your hiking experience.
