You are about to embark on the Freingrabenweg hiking route, located in a beautiful area with stunning landscapes. This circular route covers a distance of 14.157 kilometers with an elevation gain of 734 meters, making it an extremely difficult hike that will challenge even experienced hikers. The estimated duration for this hike is around 5 hours and 6 minutes.
As you start your journey, you will come across various points of interest along the trail. At the beginning of the route, you will find a parking area for your convenience. As you continue, at a distance of 0.05 kilometers from the start, you will encounter a historic wayside cross, adding a touch of cultural significance to your hike.
Further along the trail, approximately 4.23 kilometers from the start, you will come across another historic wayside cross. Around 5.19 kilometers into the hike, there is an alpine hut named Dürrieglalm where you can rest and take in the breathtaking views. Additionally, at 5.51 kilometers from the start, you will find a bench to relax and enjoy a snack.
Midway through the hike, at 3.94 kilometers from the start, there is a cave entrance called Gaisstiegelschacht. Be sure to admire it from a safe distance. Towards the end of the route, at 5.44 kilometers from the start, you will encounter another cave entrance known as Schacht? adding a sense of mystery to your adventure.
