This hiking route in the Beauplat area is a challenging circular trail spanning 12.49 kilometers with an elevation gain of 944 meters, making it extremely difficult but rewarding for experienced hikers. It is estimated to take around 5 hours and 15 minutes to complete.
As you embark on your journey, you will come across various points of interest along the way. At the beginning of the trail, you will find a parking area as well as an information point named La Tour de Champ. Further along, about 1.79 kilometers into the hike, there is another parking area, and at 4.37 kilometers, you will reach the Cabane forestière de Charcotin, a wilderness hut.
Exploring the historic side of the trail, approximately 4.66 kilometers from the start, you will encounter ruins, followed by more ruins at 4.54 kilometers and 4.48 kilometers. There are also several fountains and picnic sites scattered throughout the route for your convenience and enjoyment.
For sustenance, there are drinking water points available at various locations including 1.79 kilometers and 0.09 kilometers from the start. Additionally, benches are strategically placed along the trail at different distances to provide resting spots with scenic views.
As you near the end of the hike, at approximately 5.93 kilometers, you will reach the Beauplat destination. Along the way, be sure to stay hydrated, wear appropriate hiking gear, and check the weather forecast before setting out.
