This hike takes you through the breathtaking landscapes of Mavri, offering a challenging and rewarding experience for avid hikers. With a total distance of 17.928 kilometers and an elevation gain of 921 meters, this route is categorized as extremely difficult, suitable for seasoned hikers looking for a physical challenge.

At the beginning of the trail, you will find the Xyloskalo Restaurant, where you can fuel up before starting your journey. As you progress, you will pass by the entrance to the Φαράγγι της Σαμαριάς (Samaria Gorge) at 0.04 kilometers from the start, offering a glimpse of the stunning natural beauty that lies ahead.

Midway through the hike at 3.44 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Kallergi Shelter, a cozy alpine hut where you can take a break and soak in the surrounding mountain views. Continuing on, you will encounter Psari peak at 7.96 kilometers and Mavri peak at 8.96 kilometers from the start, offering panoramic views of the rugged terrain.

Along the trail, you will also come across various points of interest such as viewpoints, information centers, and facilities for your convenience. Remember to bring an ample water supply, as well as snacks and proper hiking gear. It is recommended to check the weather forecast before embarking on this challenging hike.
