This hiking route in the Mavri area is an extremely difficult 17.9-kilometer out-and-back trail with a total elevation gain of 921 meters. The journey is expected to take about 6 hours and 27 minutes to complete.

Starting at Xyloskalo Restaurant, hikers will traverse a challenging path that includes several points of interest along the way. Just 200 meters into the hike, you'll come across a parking area, and shortly after that, at the 0.04-kilometer mark, you'll find the entrance to the Samaria Gorge. As you continue, at the 3.44-kilometer point, you'll reach the Kallergi Shelter, providing a nice resting spot for tired hikers.

Midway through the trail, at around the 7.96-kilometer mark, you'll encounter the peak of Psari, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Further along at the 8.96-kilometer point, you'll reach the peak of Mavri, which is another great spot to take in the natural beauty of the area.
