Welcome to the Camino Real Bogotá - Choachí hiking route! This extremely difficult 13.5 km trail offers a challenging yet rewarding experience for hikers. The route features an elevation gain of 907 meters and a duration of approximately 5 hours and 23 minutes.
Starting off, you will pass by a couple of restaurants within the first few kilometers of the trail, where you can grab a quick bite or a refreshment before embarking on your journey. As you continue on, you will come across Parque aventura la chorrera, an adventurous park located just 0.03 km from the start point, offering exciting attractions for visitors.
Midway through the hike, at around 6.75 km from the start, you will encounter three stunning waterfalls - La Escondida, another waterfall, and one more. These natural beauties offer a serene spot to rest and take in the surrounding nature before continuing on your way back.
As this is an out-and-back route, you will follow the same path back to the starting point. It is important to note that this hike is extremely difficult due to its length and elevation gain, so be prepared with proper hiking gear, plenty of water, and snacks for energy.
