Welcome to the Camino real Potrero Grande-Monserrate hiking route! This extremely difficult out-and-back trail spans 13.844 kilometers and boasts an elevation gain of 789 meters. The estimated duration for this challenging hike is around 5 hours and 10 minutes.

The trail begins in an area surrounded by lush greenery and breathtaking natural beauty. As you embark on your journey, you will encounter several points of interest along the way.

At the beginning of the trail, you will find a parking area conveniently located for hikers to start their adventure. Further along, approximately 1.25 kilometers into the hike, you will be greeted by the majestic Cascada del Chiflón, a stunning waterfall that offers a perfect spot for a rest and some amazing photo opportunities.

Around 0.85 kilometers from the start, you will come across El Diamante del Chiflón, a restaurant where you can refuel and recharge before continuing your trek. As you approach the 1.04-kilometer mark, you will encounter a picturesque rock formation known as Roca, adding a scenic element to your hike.

Approximately 1.23 kilometers from the start, you will find El Chiflón campsite, offering a tranquil setting for overnight stays or a short break. Further along the trail, at around 0.49 kilometers from the start, you will reach a viewpoint that provides panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

Towards the end of the trail, at approximately 6.92 kilometers from the start, you will discover another waterfall, Cascada, and a nearby viewpoint that offers a different perspective of the area. Adjacent to the trail, only 0.04 kilometers away from the start, you will find Parque aventura la chorrera, an adventure park that can be a fun addition to your hiking experience.

As this hike is extremely difficult, ensure you are well-prepared with proper hiking gear, sufficient water, and snacks.
