This challenging hiking route will take you to the breathtaking Torrione di Sesis in the Italian Alps. The trail is an out-and-back route with a total distance of 5.293 kilometers and an elevation gain of 528 meters, making it a difficult hike that will take approximately 2 hours and 32 minutes to complete.
Starting at the trailhead, you will first come across the parking area, where you can leave your vehicle before embarking on the journey. As you begin your hike, you will pass by the Rifugio Sorgenti del Piave alpine hut and the beautiful Sorgenti del Piave natural spring, both located close to the trail.
Along the way, you will also encounter a wayside cross and several picnic sites where you can take a break and enjoy the stunning mountain views. As you continue your ascent, you will reach Passo Col di Caneva and Passo Sesis, two natural saddles that offer panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
At around the halfway point of the hike, you will find informational signposts that provide insight into the area's history and geology. As you near the end of the trail, you will reach Torre Peralba, a natural peak that is worth a visit if you have the time.
Finally, the trail will lead you to the highlight of the hike, Torrione di Sesis, a majestic peak with sweeping views of the entire region. Take some time to soak in the scenery before heading back the way you came.
