This hiking route takes you through the stunning alpine scenery of the Torre Avoltri area. The 12.46-kilometer trail offers a challenging trek with an elevation gain of 930 meters, making it extremely difficult but rewarding for experienced hikers.
Starting at the trailhead, you will come across a parking area where you can leave your vehicle before embarking on the journey. Around 1.73 kilometers into the hike, you will find Rifugio Pier Fortunato Calvi, an alpine hut offering a place to rest and refuel during the hike. Further along the trail, at about 0.1 kilometers, you will encounter Sorgenti del Piave, a natural water source perfect for a quick refreshment.
As you continue your ascent, you will reach waypoints such as a wayside cross, picnic sites, and informational stops providing insights into the surrounding area. Midway through the hike, you'll find Rifugio Sorgenti del Piave, another alpine hut for hikers to take a break.
The trail also passes by several notable peaks and saddles, including Navastolt, Pic Chiadenis, Passo Buso Superiore, and many others, offering breathtaking views of the alpine landscape.
At the turnaround point of the hike, you will reach Torre Avoltri, a prominent peak that marks the endpoint of the out-and-back trail. Here, you can take in panoramic views before retracing your steps back to the starting point.
