This hiking route takes you through the stunning landscape of Torre Avoltri. The trail spans a distance of 12.46 kilometers with an elevation gain of 930 meters, making it an extremely difficult hike suitable for experienced hikers.
Starting at the trailhead, you will come across various points of interest along the way. About 1.73 kilometers into the hike, you will find Rifugio Pier Fortunato Calvi, an alpine hut open from June 15 to September 30, offering a place to rest and take in the beautiful surroundings.
Further along the trail, at approximately 2.77 kilometers from the start, you will encounter Pic Chiadenis, a prominent peak in the area. The trail also passes by Sasso del bersagliere, another peak worth noting, at around 2.67 kilometers from the beginning.
As you continue on, there are several saddles and peaks to explore, such as Passo Buso Superiore, Forcella del Buso, and Torre Avoltri, the latter being a significant peak with historical significance. Along the way, there are also water sources like Sorgenti del Piave and scenic spots perfect for a picnic.
The route is an out-and-back type, so you will retrace your steps on the way back to the starting point. With a total duration of approximately 5 hours and 12 minutes, it is essential to come prepared. Be sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and wear sturdy hiking shoes.
