Welcome to the Thomas-Eder-Steig hiking trail in the scenic Schellenberger Forst area. This circular route spans a distance of 11.006 kilometers and offers an elevation gain of 1042.0 meters, making it a challenging yet rewarding trek for hikers.
As you embark on your journey, you will come across several points of interest along the trail. At the beginning of the hike, you will find a Wanderparkplatz (parking area) for your convenience. As you continue onwards, at around 4.73 kilometers into the hike, you'll reach the Toni-Lenz-Hütte, a cozy alpine hut and restaurant where you can take a break and enjoy a meal.
Around the midway point of the trail, at 5.25 kilometers, you'll encounter a peak offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area. Not too far from the peak, at 5.22 kilometers, there is an information point where you can learn more about the local area.
As you make your way back towards the starting point, you'll find a food court at 4.78 kilometers, providing a perfect opportunity to refuel before completing your hike. Additionally, at 4.73 kilometers, there is a drinking water point and at 0.07 kilometers, a shelter in case you need a rest or refuge.
Throughout the hike, you'll also come across various amenities such as benches (0.17 kilometers) where you can take a moment to rest and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Given the length and elevation gain of the trail, it is recommended that hikers come prepared with plenty of water, appropriate hiking gear, and snacks to sustain them throughout the journey.
