This extremely difficult 13.785-kilometer circular hiking route will take you through the stunning area surrounding Kleiner Beil.
Starting at the Kleiner Beil trailhead, you will pass by the Schönangeralm parking area and restaurant at the beginning of the trail. These spots are perfect for parking your vehicle and grabbing a bite to eat before starting your adventure.
As you trek further along the path, you will come across two water points at around 4.38 kilometers and 5.51 kilometers from the start, where you can refill your water bottles. Additionally, there is a spring with drinking water available at 5.49 kilometers into the hike.
During the journey, you will also encounter two peaks, Lämpersberg and Kleiner Beil, at 5.88 kilometers and 6.55 kilometers from the start, respectively. These offer fantastic panoramic views and photo opportunities.
For history enthusiasts, there is a wayside cross at 4.56 kilometers from the beginning of the trail, adding a cultural touch to the natural surroundings. Furthermore, there are information points along the way at 5.94 kilometers into the hike.
The trail is challenging, with an elevation gain of 1156 meters, so be prepared for steep inclines and rocky terrain. It is crucial to bring plenty of water, snacks, and appropriate hiking gear. Check the weather forecast before embarking on this journey to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
After approximately 6 hours of hiking, you will loop back to the starting point at Kleiner Beil, having experienced the beauty and serenity of this picturesque area.
