This challenging hiking route takes you to the stunning area of Blankenstein. The trail is an out-and-back type, with a total distance of approximately 7.975 kilometers and an elevation gain of 727 meters, making it a difficult hike that will take around 3 hours and 40 minutes to complete.

As you start your journey, you will come across the Hufnagelstube parking area, where you can leave your vehicle before hitting the trail. Just a short distance away, at the beginning of the hike, you can find the Müllhäusl shelter for a quick rest stop.

As you make your way along the trail, you will encounter various points of interest. These include the Riederecksee, a beautiful water feature located 3.5 kilometers from the start, and the Blankenstein peak 3.99 kilometers into the hike.

At around 1.1 kilometers from the start, you will find information points along the trail to enhance your hiking experience. Be sure to check out the Sibli-Wasserfall waterfall approximately 1.16 kilometers from the start, and the historic Hettlage-Marterl wayside shrine 3.14 kilometers into the hike.

As you approach the end of the trail, you will reach the Blankenstein saddle, located at 3.99 kilometers from the start, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding area. The Plankensteinnadel peak and the Blankensteinsattel saddle are also located in this area, providing a picturesque setting for a well-deserved break.
