Starting at the parking area, you will begin your ascent towards the peak of Monte Macchialaveta. Along the trail, you will come across various points of interest. At the beginning of the hike, you will find Fonte Petrinara, a natural spring where you can refill your water supply. Further along the trail, you will reach Passo del Lupo, a saddle offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape.

As you continue your journey, you will encounter Colle Leprino and Monte Macchialaveta, the two peaks that offer panoramic views of the region. Make sure to stop by the viewpoints along the way to appreciate the beauty of the area. Additionally, there are information points scattered throughout the trail providing insights into the local flora, fauna, and history.

Halfway through the hike, you will reach a boundary stone marking the historical border between the Kingdom of Two Sicilies and the Papal States. This historical landmark adds a cultural touch to your outdoor adventure.
