This hiking route takes you to the stunning area of Pau da Vella, known for its beautiful peak and picturesque surroundings. The route is an out-and-back type, with a total distance of 13.969 kilometers and an elevation gain of 641 meters, making it an extremely difficult hike that will challenge even experienced hikers.

As you start your journey, you will come across a parking area located right at the beginning of the trail, making it convenient for you to park your vehicle and start hiking. Along the way, you will pass by "Novo", a pub where you can grab some refreshments and rest for a bit before continuing your hike. Further along the trail, about 6.98 kilometers from the start, you will reach the highlight of the route, Pau da Vella peak. This peak offers breathtaking views of the surrounding area and is a perfect spot to take a break and admire the scenery.

As you make your way back, you will pass by a bar called "Midway Bar", situated 0.06 kilometers from the start, where you can stop for a quick snack before completing the hike. Keep in mind to bring enough water, snacks, and sun protection as this hike is quite challenging and can take almost 5 hours to complete.
