Welcome to the Serra del Tuono hiking route, a challenging circular trail that spans 13.4 kilometers and features an elevation gain of 1056 meters. This extremely difficult route will take you approximately 5 hours and 45 minutes to complete, so make sure you are well-prepared before embarking on this adventure.

The hike begins at the parking area located at the trailhead, where you can leave your vehicle before starting your journey. As you make your way along the trail, you will come across several points of interest that are worth exploring.

About midway through the hike, you will reach the first peak, Serra del Tuono, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. A little further along the trail, you will encounter Monte Frascosa, another peak that provides a different perspective of the area.

As you continue your hike, you will pass by Fontana La Spina, a natural spring where you can take a refreshing break and replenish your water supply. Additionally, you will come across Belvedere, a scenic viewpoint that offers a picturesque spot to rest and take in the beauty of the surroundings.

Further along the trail, you will encounter Costabile Carducci, a historic memorial that serves as a reminder of the area's cultural heritage. As you approach the midway point of the hike, you will reach Serra della Croce, a saddle that offers a brief respite and a chance to catch your breath.

Towards the end of the hike, you will reach Passo della Portella, another saddle that marks the beginning of your journey back to the starting point. Before concluding your hike, make sure to visit Maria santissima Immacolata, an artwork that adds a touch of artistry to your outdoor experience.

Due to the length and elevation gain of the trail, this hike is considered extremely difficult and is recommended for experienced hikers. Make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and proper hiking gear. Additionally, always check the weather forecast before setting out to ensure a safe and enjoyable hike.
