This hiking route to La Cruz is an extremely difficult 13.4-kilometer out-and-back trail with an elevation gain of 501 meters. The hike is estimated to take around 4 hours and 21 minutes to complete, so make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks.
Starting at the trailhead, you'll immediately come across Sabores de México Coo, a restaurant where you can grab a bite to eat before heading out. As you continue on the trail, you'll pass by a drinking water station, perfect for refilling your water bottle at the beginning of the hike.
Around 3.55 kilometers from the start, you'll reach a tranquil spring, a great spot to take a break and enjoy the surroundings. Further along the trail at 6.3 kilometers, you'll find Refujio de Jandro y Carmina, a shelter where you can rest before continuing on to La Cruz peak, located 6.7 kilometers from the start.
At the summit of La Cruz, you'll be rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Take your time to soak in the beauty before retracing your steps back to the trailhead.
