Welcome to the hiking route to Pico Escragnolle in Tijuca National Park. This moderate 4.099-kilometer out-and-back trail offers a total elevation gain of 289 meters, making it a challenging yet rewarding journey for hikers.
Starting at the trailhead, you will come across a bicycle parking area at the beginning of the route. Make sure to park your bike securely before beginning your hike. As you continue onwards, you will find a drinking water station located nearby, allowing you to stay hydrated throughout your adventure.
Midway through the trail, you will reach an information point named Pico da Tijuca/Tijuca Mirim Archer/Cocanha, providing valuable insights into the surrounding area. Take a moment to appreciate the view and learn more about the park's history.
Further along the trail, you will encounter an attraction known as Pedra João Antônio, located at a distance of 0.78 kilometers from the start of the hike. Although it may be off the trail, it is worth the extra effort to explore this natural wonder.
As you approach the endpoint of the hike, you will reach the highlight of the route, Pico Escragnolle, a peak offering breathtaking panoramic views of the park. Take your time to soak in the beauty of the landscape before retracing your steps back to the starting point.
