Welcome to the Mailh Arrouy hiking route! This challenging trail spans approximately 8.98 kilometers with an elevation gain of 942 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding journey for hikers.
The hike starts at the parking area, where you can prepare for your adventure. As you begin your trek, you will pass by the Monument aux Morts and the wayside cross at the beginning of the trail. These historic landmarks offer a glimpse into the area's past.
As you venture further along the route, you will come across several points of interest. At around 1.67 kilometers from the start, you will encounter the Jalon information point, providing valuable insights about the surroundings. Further along the trail, at 2.59 kilometers in, you will find another Jalon information point, offering more details about the area.
Around midway through the hike, at approximately 4.1 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Deux Aiguilles rock formation, a natural wonder worth exploring. Continuing on, you will encounter the Gouffre cave entrance and Le Bilboquet peak, both at 4.2 kilometers from the start.
Towards the end of the trail, at 4.49 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Cabane des Bergers shelter, providing a resting spot for weary hikers. Nearby, you will also come across the Pas du Bilboquet saddle, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
