This extremely difficult 12.486-kilometer circular hiking route in the Katilliko Kaskoa-Pikuda area offers a challenging adventure for experienced hikers. With an elevation gain of 713 meters, this trail is not for the faint-hearted. Make sure to pack plenty of water, snacks, and check the weather forecast before embarking on this journey.
Starting at the parking area (0.0 km from the trail), you'll soon come across the first point of interest - a drinking water station at 1.33 km. It's always a good idea to refill your water supply whenever possible. Along the trail, you'll also encounter various peaks such as Olariaga (5.21 km), Elorregi/Iturburu (4.43 km), and Katilliko Harria (5.86 km), each offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area.
As you continue on, archaeological sites like Cista Olari (5.13 km) and Túmulo Elorregi (4.45 km) add a historical touch to your hiking experience. Keep an eye out for informational points at 0.13 km, 0.67 km, and 1.29 km, providing insights into the area's rich heritage.
For a true test of endurance, Cromlech tumular Abartango Zelaia (4.48 km) and Menhir Gorospilgo Lepoa (5.67 km) offer a glimpse into prehistoric times. The trail also leads you to natural landmarks like Altzueta peak (3.37 km) and the scenic Katilliko Kaskoa-Pikuda peak (5.86 km).
