This hiking route takes you through a beautiful area with a variety of interesting points of interest. The trail is 3.365 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 260 meters, making it of moderate difficulty.
Starting at the trailhead, you will come across the Steinbruch-See, a picturesque water feature just 0.56 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. As you continue on, at around 0.85 kilometers you will encounter the Waldmühle Nebenwand and at 0.83 kilometers the Waldmühle Hauptwand, both popular climbing spots for enthusiasts.
Further along the trail, at 1.18 kilometers, you will reach the Kaltenleutgebener Höhle and the Merkurhöhle, two interesting cave entrances worth exploring. If you're in need of a rest, there are several benches along the way where you can take a break and enjoy the surroundings.
Midway through the hike, at around 1.66 kilometers, you will find the Josefswarte viewpoint, offering stunning panoramic views of the area. Near the endpoint of the trail, at 1.46 kilometers, you will pass by the Teufelsteinhütte alpine hut, where you can stop for a meal and enjoy some local hospitality.
