The Teufelstein hiking route is located in a picturesque area with stunning natural beauty. The route is an out-and-back type, with a total distance of 3.127 kilometers and an elevation gain of 226 meters, making it an easy hike suitable for all skill levels.
As you start your journey, you will come across various points of interest along the trail. Approximately 0.56 kilometers from the starting point, you will find the Steinbruch-See, a beautiful water feature perfect for a peaceful pause. Continuing on, at around 1.25 kilometers, you will encounter natural springs such as the Buch Bründl and the Veringquelle, providing cool refreshment along the way.
Further ahead, at 1.47 kilometers into the hike, you can visit the Kammersteinerhütte, an alpine hut offering a cozy retreat to hikers. Nearby, the Josefswarte viewpoint at 1.47 kilometers provides a panoramic vista of the surrounding landscape. Additionally, the Teufelsteinhütte at 1.56 kilometers offers another alpine hut experience.
For those interested in more adventurous activities, you can explore the climbing walls at Waldmühle Nebenwand and Waldmühle Hauptwand, located at 0.85 and 0.83 kilometers from the start, respectively. These spots provide a thrilling opportunity for climbers to test their skills.
As you approach the turnaround point of the hike, around 1.56 kilometers in, you will reach the peaks of Hinterer Föhrenberg and Teufelstein, offering majestic views of the area. The Teufelstein peak also houses the Kaltenleutgebener Höhle and Merkurhöhle cave entrances for those interested in spelunking.
