Welcome to the hiking route to Kleiner Hundstod, a challenging and extremely difficult trail spanning 24.613 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1923 meters. This route will take approximately 10 hours and 30 minutes to complete, so be prepared for a long and strenuous hike.
The trail starts at the parking area, where you can leave your vehicle before embarking on this adventure. Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks, as well as proper hiking gear such as sturdy hiking boots, layers of clothing, and a map/compass.
As you begin your journey, you will come across the Dießbach waterfall, a beautiful natural wonder that is located approximately 1.81 kilometers from the start of the trail. Take a moment to admire the cascading waters before continuing on your way.
Further along the trail at approximately 5.3 kilometers from the start, you will encounter an information point that provides valuable insights about the area. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the surroundings and the wildlife that inhabits the region.
Midway through the hike at around 11.32 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Ingolstädter Haus, an alpine hut where you can take a break, refuel, and enjoy the stunning mountain views. This is a perfect spot to rest and recharge before continuing on to Kleiner Hundstod.
As you press on towards your destination, you will pass by the Abz. Wimbachscharte information point at 9.27 kilometers from the start. This is a great place to gather more information about the trail and the surrounding area.
Finally, at 12.31 kilometers from the start, you will reach the peak of Kleiner Hundstod. Take in the breathtaking panoramic views of the alpine landscape and savor the sense of accomplishment for reaching this impressive summit.
