Welcome to the Z-Line hiking route in Saalbach-Hinterglemm! This circular route covers a distance of 6.188 kilometers with an elevation gain of 409 meters, making it a moderate difficulty hike that will take approximately 2 hours and 27 minutes to complete.

Starting off, you will find yourself at the 12er Express parking area, where the trail begins. As you make your way along the route, you will come across several points of interest to enhance your hiking experience.

Approximately 0.65 kilometers from the start, you will stumble upon the Hl. Thomas-Kapelle, a historic wayside shrine dedicated to Saint Thomas. This peaceful spot offers a chance to pause and admire the cultural significance of the area.

As you continue along the trail, at 1.78 kilometers from the start, the Hintermaisalm restaurant presents a perfect opportunity to refuel with some local Austrian cuisine. The cozy atmosphere and delicious food will surely energize you for the rest of your journey.

At 2.77 kilometers from the start, the Winkler Alm restaurant awaits, offering another delightful dining option with a charming alpine setting. Enjoy a break here while taking in the stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

Further along, at 2.79 kilometers from the start, you will find Bigfoot bar, a lively spot to grab a drink and relax before completing the final stretch of the hike.
