This challenging hiking route will take you through the stunning natural beauty of the Breitfußalm area. The trail covers a distance of 7.873 kilometers with an elevation gain of 589 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding hike. It is estimated to take around 3 hours and 17 minutes to complete.

Starting at the 12er Express parking area, you will make your way towards the trailhead. Along the way, you will pass by the Hl. Thomas-Kapelle wayside shrine, a historic site that is 0.65 kilometers from the start. As you continue, you will come across the Winkler Alm restaurant at 2.76 kilometers from the start, where you can take a break and enjoy a meal.

Further along the trail, at 3.35 kilometers from the start, you will find a water source, providing a refreshing rest stop. The Hintermaisalm restaurant is located at 1.78 kilometers from the start, offering another opportunity to refuel before continuing your journey.

Midway through the hike, at 3.94 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Breitfußalm alpine hut and restaurant, where you can take in breathtaking views and relax. This is also where you will find informative signposts to enhance your hiking experience.

Throughout the hike, make sure to stay hydrated and bring enough water, as well as snacks to keep your energy levels up. It is also recommended to check the weather forecast before setting out on the trail to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

As you make your way back along the out-and-back route, you will pass by the Xandl Stadl restaurant at the beginning of the trail, offering a final opportunity to rest and recharge before reaching the endpoint.
